Hi Everyone, this is Shelly
I was going to write a very long detailed message of thanks to everyone of you, but my day today was very busy with Lacey. I attend all of her therapy sessions and when we are back at her room I play nurse to her as much as I can. She is the same sweet Lacey that everyone knows and loves. And she still has her sense of humor despite her pain, suffering and frustration. Right now she has a very short term memory problem, which should heal in hopefully the very near future. There has already been amazing progress in this area. Today she walked quite a distance with the help of a cane and with very limited support from the therapist. The use of her right arm and hand improves on a daily basis.
Ed Toribio flew into Portland today and came straight to the hospital to visit. It was very good to see Ed and he was very happy to visit with Lacey and I. Marcia, Lacey loved the purse. Her purse was destroyed in the accident and I had to toss it, so it is a very appreciated gift. Thank you for my BD card and goodie too.Mike and I have enjoyed this blog site so much and appreciate everyone adding their comments. You have no idea how uplifting it is for us to read the comments. I hope to have Lacey reading them by tomorrow. One small step at a time.I will write a more detailed and thankful blog tomorrow or Wednesday.
God bless everyone of you. We love you.

Shelly,
So good to hear from you. It helps us all so much to be able to read the daily updates on Lacey's condition. The progress that she has made thus far is miraculous.
Happy Birthday! Is so hard to believe that you are going to be 50 years old in just a few hours. It will certainly be a memorable birthday this year. You should be getting a little birthday surprise delivered to Jamie's tomorrow. We also sent a little something for Lacey that should arrive by Thursday.
Keep up the good work Lacey and Shelly. We hope to see the two of you back home soon. We love and miss you,
Brenda & Jerry

Happy Birthday Shelly!! I'm right behind you honey. I'm amazed (repeat amazed) at the progress Lacey is making. I'm sure some of it is because she knows you all are there and she can feel your presence and your love, even if she can't express it at all times. Thank you for writing today, as I'm sure you hardly know where to start. No worries - we all understand. Liz, you have been an angel - thank you too for all your words and for blessing Mike, Shelly, and Lacey so much. We are reading the blog daily. Love to all of you and may God bless every success of every day. Love, Ronda

Happy 50th Birthday Shelly!
My dear, you are so very welcome for your card, goodie and the Mayan purse. I am really pleased to hear that Lacey liked the bag. Just a little bit of Mexico from me.
I am so happy that Ed was able to see you and Lacey yesterday. He called after his visit and gave me an update. He loves you all so much. I know it was a relief for him to finally be able to touch you and see for himself all of the great progress that Lacey is making. Her recovery is truely a miracle.
I will also visit you next week. I arrive Portland on Wednesday 6/13. I should see you and Lacey Wednesday late afternoon or Thursday morning.
Please let me know if there is anyting that you need from home. I can bring to you if necessary.
Please know that you are loved. You, Mike and Lacey are constantly in my thoughts.
With love,
Marcia
For Lacey,
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”
Mike and Shelly
We think of you guys often. Keep the faith. Happy Birthday!
Prayers and best wishes
