Lacey update May 27

Lacey is awake. The nurses have given her a small amount of information regarding her injuries. She is not happy about the halo on her head, and wants to wiggle out of it. So hopefully, the information they gave her will make Lacey understand why she has to wear it. She had sips of water from a spoon and a few ice cubes. Shelly says she is not coughing as much. The Dr. came in and got her to move her fingers on her right hand. Hopefully she will be moved out of ICU sometime in the next few days if she continues to improve like she has. All of the life support equipment has been taken out of the room.
Of course, we want to pray for continued movement of her right arm....but there is some really hard stuff still ahead. It's hard for me to put into words, but I am certain everyone knows what I am thinking about. We know Lacey has everything and more, that it will take to get through, but she will question whether she does. God, please give her that strength. If anyone deserves it, it is her.
Have a safe graduation Ketchikan.
Liz K.

I tried to email yesterday but it doesn't look like it went through. Just wanted you all to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Jodi has been very optimistic in her reports to us. It will be a long haul we know but we are so grateful for Lacey's life to have been spared. Call on your friends..these are not idle offers. Everyone wants to help as they can. There's a time to give and a time to recieve. Accept the offers of help..you can not do this alone. Take care of yourselves and one another. Love and prayers , Bett

Mike, Shelly & Lacey, You are all in our every thought and prayer. Wish there was something more we could do but know that at this time prayers are the best. Take care of each other & may each of you feel all the love & support coming your way.

A big thank you to Liz for the daily updates.
